Mayo’s Allianz National Football League campaign has started off with defeat at the hands of Dublin.
Kevin Lahiff’s early goal gave Dublin a good start, but Mayo fought back well to go into the break 1-10 1-8 ahead.
Conor Reid got the Mayo goal after good work from Colm Reape and David McBrien.
Dublin fought back well in the second half to reclaim the lead, holding on to win by two.
On his Mayo debut, Breaffy’s Davitt Neary was named Midwest Radio Man of the Match, by Rob Hennelly who was on first-time co-commentary duty.
Neary hit 0-2 in an impressive display from wing forward.
Next up for Mayo is a home game against Galway next Sunday.
