30 years after setting his first World Record back in 1994, Louisburgh native Eamonn Keane has etched his name into the history books once again.
Known as ‘The Ironman’, Keane is a strength athlete who has travelled the world and has broken world records in every continent.
He holds the most Strength World Records ever by an individual.
Keane set his first World Record in ’94 in Florida, and returned there in recent weeks to attempt another to celebrate the 30th anniversary.
He has surpassed the World Records in the Heavyweight Division in Natural Powerlifting with a 240kg (525 pound) bench press, 365kg (803 pound) squat, and a 375kg (825 pound) deadlift.
Among Keane’s other achievements are the most Strength World Records broken in a day, with 7, and becoming a 7th degree/ Dan Martial Arts Black Belt and Irish and European Heavyweight Full Contact Kickboxing Champion.
He is also a qualified Personal Trainer, Martial Arts Instructor, Kickboxing Instructor, and Professional Bodyguard.
