The son of a Mayo man has signed for a top flight French club for a fee believed to be in the region of €1 million euro.
John Joe Patrick Finn, whose father hailed from Devlis in Ballyhaunis has secured a move to the French top flight to join Stade de Reims.
The 21-year-old midfielder transfers to Ligue 1 after impressing during his time with La Liga outfit Getafe CF.
The former Real Madrid youth prospect made four league appearances for Getafe this season.
John Joe Patrick Finn’s father, John Finn, was from Ballyhaunis and moved to the Spanish capital in the 1990s.
He sadly passed away several years ago and his two sons were raised in Madrid with their Cameroonian mother.
