Four Mayo teams were in action in the Connacht Women's Cup first round on Sunday, with three others seeing their ties postponed in the aftermath of Storm Darragh.
Swinford had a fruitful visit to Boyle Celtic, winning 2-0. Beth Roache and Ciara Forkan got the goals.
There was less joy for Castlebar Town on their travels to Gurteen Celtic where the home side were 2-1 winners, Shauna Redmond with the goal for Town.
Down in Erris, Kilmore Ladies hosted Manulla and held a 2-1 lead at half-time, the home side's goals scored by Molly Connor and Shannon Gibbons.
Manulla, however, as we have so often seen, will keep looking for a way to win and they were to leave the peninsula as victors, with Ella Vahey, Lauren McLellan and Niamh Flannery producing the goals.
CONNACHT UNDER 17 CUP
The Connacht Under 17 Girls Cup produced two good encounters on Sunday.
Westport United saw off the challenge of visitors Salthill Devon after extra time. Katie Hughes got the game's only goal in the first half of extra time to see her team progress in the competition.
Later in the day, under lights, Castlebar Celtic were quickest out of the blocks against visitors Athenry, taking a two-goal lead through Riona Moynihan and Grace Carroll.
But Athenry are a stern outfit and were level, 2-2, at half-time, before upping the ante in the second half to add four more goals to their tally.
