Tooreen have relinquished their Connacht Intermediate Hurling Championship crown.
The Mayo kingpins were aiming for a fifth consecutive title today, but just four second half points wasn’t enough to get over Tynagh – Abbey/Duniry.
Tooreen were ahead at half time thanks to a goal from Eoghan Delaney, but the Galway champions put in a strong second half shift to see them over the line.
Kenny Feeney was Tooreen’s best on the day, with Shane Maloney acceptional with nine points for the winnerts.
