A number of local boxers are in action this evening at the National Elite Championship finals at the National Stadium in Dublin.
Finals get underway at 5:00pm this evening, with Mayo being represented in the third fight.
Shannon Sweeney (St. Anne’s) takes on Caitlin Fryers (Immaculata) in the 50kg decider.
Monivea’s Adam Hession goes up against Rhys Owens (Erne) in the 60kg bout soon after.
After a presentation interval, Lisa O’Rourke of Castlerea competes in the 70kg final against Tiffany O’Reilly (Portlaoise).
Later on, two locals square off as Aoife O’Rourke (Castlerea) and Bethany Doocey (Castlebar) go head to head (75kg final).
The final fight of the evening comes in the 92kg + category – Galway’s Martin McDonagh faces Godstime Ide of Crumlin.
