Sligo Rovers held league leaders Shelbourne to a goalless draw in the SSE Airtricity League last night.
The point keeps Rovers in fifth place, two points off Shamrock Rovers and Galway United in third and fourth respectively.
Derry City are in second, a point ahead of the two.
Galway came from behind to beat Waterford away from home last night thanks to a goals from Stephen Walsh and Killian Brouder.
St. Pat’s were 3-0 winners over Shamrock Rovers, while Drogheda upset Derry with a 2-1 victory.
Elsewhere, Bohemians took a further step towards survival with a 2-0 win over Dundalk.
