Two second half goals from Stephen Walsh helped Galway United to victory last night in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division.
The win over Dundalk brings Galway to fifth in the table, ahead of Sligo Rovers on scoring difference.
There are now four teams from 3rd to 6th all on 37 points.
Shamrock Rovers occupy 3rd with +8 scoring, Waterford are on +4, Galway on +3 and Sligo Rovers on +1.
Derry City are seven ahead in 2nd while top side Shelbourne are a further three ahead of Derry with a game in hand.
Sligo Rovers take on St. Pat’s tomorrow where a win puts them four off second spot.
