West Sligo AC hosted their annual Black Pig Run at Enniscrone on Monday evening July 29. It was the final event of the Enniscrone Black Pig Festival which ran fromJuly 25-29.
There were two races – 5k and 10k – both starting from race HQ at the Diamond Coast Hotel.
The 10k was a well organised event on an undulating course, with a rural loop and a fast 2k finish through the popular seaside town.
John Byrne Mayo AC was the 10k winner in 36:04 – another impressive performance – great to see him racing and winning again too!
He led a small field (58 finishers) home a minute ahead of second placed Oskar Szmyt in 37:06
The first woman was Paula Donnelly (Unattached) in 40:46, with Caroline Coulter Tireragh AC second 40:56, and Donna Gallagher Mayo AC third 42:38.
Dee Corcoran Mayo AC was fourth in 46:39.
Other Mayo AC 10k finishers were Damien Finnegan 40:52, Ray Clarke 44:34.

Darragh Mulrooney Moy Valley AC won the 5k in a fast 15:54, Leah Loughlan first woman in 20:17.
