The Mayo Women's League representative squad made the near 600 kms round trip to Ballycourda to face Waterford on Sunday.
A place in the Angela Hearst Final awaited the winners.
Despite dominating for long periods and going close several times through Melissa Devaney, Tracey Hall and Amy Dunleavy half time arrived with the teams scoreless.
Waterford had the breeze advantage for the 2nd half but Mayo still carved out the better chances through Fiona Doherty but were ultimately undone by three goals in a twelve minute spell from the 70th minute.
The 3-0 defeat ends Mayo's interest in this, their inaugural sojourn into this tournament but they will be back next year.
