The Wild Mayo Ultra team of Darragh Delaney, Colin Loughney, Noel Kelly and Charlie Kelly complete the Mondello 24-Hour event, taking an impressive 2nd place in the 4 person category.
The team covered 864km in 249 laps all inside 24hours.
The team was nearly down to three after only 20 minutes of racing when Charlie Kelly clipped a fellow competitor at high speed while passing the finish line, with only seconds to brush himself down, he jumped back on the bike to tag a teammate.
It was a very impressive 24hrs for Connacht cycling, taking first with Galway Bay Cycling Club, who also set a new event record of 260laps 902km completed surpassing the previous record by 5 laps.
