Sligo got their Tailteann Cup campaign off to a winning start this afternoon.
It wasn’t plain sailing for Tony McEntee’s side who were a point down at half time at home.
Sligo finished with 14 men due to a black card, but managed to hold on for a six point victory.
Goals came from Mikey Gordon and Alan McLoughlin, the latter finishing with 1-5.
A bit like the Mayo hurlers, Sligo had a fine spread of scorers – all six starting forwards and five starting defenders chipped in.
