Sligo finished up a solid Division 3 campaign today in the Allianz NFL with a win against Westmeath.
Tony McEntee’s side finished fourth in the table with four wins from seven.
Despite Sligo’s win, it is Westmeath who join Down as promoted sides to Division Two.
Sean Carrabine was to the fore for Sligo with 1-2, with Alan McLoughlin and Niall Murphy hitting 0-5 each.
There was also high praise for Canice Mulligan, last year’s U20 captain, who impressed throughout.
The six point win will be a good boost for Sligo heading into their Connacht SFC meeting with Leitrim in two weeks in Dr. Hyde Park.
