Shamrock Rovers got their first win of this year’s SSE Airtricity League Premier Division campaign last night.
The reigning champions won 1-0 away to Galway United at Eamonn Deacy Park.
Although the local side lost out, some local success did come from the Hoops’ victory.
Sligo’s own Johnny Kenny came on as a substitute to score the winning goal, with a poacher’s finish in the final ten minutes.
