The Sacred Heart Westport are through to the All Ireland PPS Senior A girls football final.
They were five point winners in this afternoon’s game against Maynooth EC.
On the 15 minute mark, Aoife Murnane, one of Maynooth’s main players was sent off which gave momentum to the Westport side.
There were just two points between the sides however at half time, Sacred Heart up 0-5 0-3.
On the 42nd minute Sacred Heart hit the net from midfielder Sarah Mulroy, pushing them into a strong lead.
Maynooth did their best to fight back, reducing the gap to two points late on.
Sacred Heart hit back with 0-3 in the closing stages with Eabha Carney securing victory.
They now march on to an All Ireland final meeting with Castleblayney of Monaghan.
