After a strong semi final victory yesterday in the Strandja Memorial Tournament in Bulgaria, Castlerea boxer Aoife O’Rourke has won gold this afternoon.
She got the better of Thai opponent Baison Manikon in the 75kg final with a convincing 3-2 victory.
Manikon is a former Tokyo Olympian and Asian under 22 champion.
In an outstanding tournament for the Roscommon boxer, she will hope to continue her good form through to this summer’s Paris Olympic Games.
She won her semi final yesterday against Chinese boxer Qian Li 4-1.
