The Victor Irish Senior National Badminton Championships took place in the National Indoor Arena, Sports Ireland Campus on the 3rd & 4th February.
Mayo pair Adam McAllister and David Walsh competed in the Men’s Doubles event.
On the Saturday Adam and David won their way through to Sunday’s semi- final beating the number two seeds in the Quarter Finals.
In the semi- final they met Dublin pair Vincent Pontonosa and Mathew Cheung and after a three set match Adam and David won through to the final.
In the final they met Paul Reynolds and Joshua Magee two players who compete internationally at this event.
Adam and David played well, but lost out in two close sets 21/16 , 21/18.
None the less, it is an achievement for the Mayo pair to win the Silver Medal at the National Senior Championships.
