Basketball is on the crest of a wave at the moment in Mayo with recent All-Ireland Schools success for St. Muredach's and St. Brendan's.

Mayo Meteors are flying at the top of the Basketball Ireland Development League Division 2.

The leaders will now face second place Carrick Cruisers tomorrow night in St. Gerald's Sports Hall in Castlebar.

Matty McHale was their top scorer last weekend against the Dublin Raiders hitting 38 points.

He is the son of former Ballina double cup winner Anthony McHale.

A win for the Mayo Meteors tomorrow night will almost certainly guarantee them Division 1 Basketball next season.

Matty McHale has been looking ahead to tomorrow night's game with Midwest Radio's Michael D. McAndrew.
