UCD booked their place in the semi-finals of the Sigerson Cup last night following a 1-14 to 1-06 win over University of Galway.
The Galway based students were two points up at half time but missed a series of chances in the second half and finished the game with 14 men as Cathal Sweeney received a second yellow card.
Mayo's Ryan O'Donoghue got the University of Galway goal, Tommy Conroy and Balla's Conor Dunleavy also both started the game.
For UCD both Rory Brickenden and Sam Callinan started for the victors.
UCD will now meet UL in the semi-final next week after they saw off DCU last night 0-14 to 1-10.
Mayo's Frank Irwin produced a man of the match display for the Limerick based students kicking three points from play.
Cian McHale of Moy Davitts and Jack Fallon of Mayo Gaels both came on as second half substitutes for UL.
