A Sligo man has become the youngest Irish mountaineer to complete the seven summits challenge at the age of 27.
Seven Summits are the seven tallest mountains on each continent that must be conquered, and the record was previously held by Dr. Clare O’Leary at the age of 34 years in 2005.
As reported by the Sligo Champion, Grange native Ryan O’Sullivan broke that record this year and his 11 years of hard work paid off when he reached the top of the seventh peak, Mount Vinson (4892m) in Antarctica on 8th January 2024.
He currently lives in Dublin, while working as a Data Analyst for Paddy Power.
He is delighted with how it all worked out and the fact that he has completed this challenge without any major obstacles.
