The Mayo Women's Football League will kick off 2024 with its annual general meeting.
The AGM takes place on Tuesday, January 9, in the Milebush Park meeting room at 8 p.m.
All clubs are invited to attend as the league reviews a very successful 2023 and looks forward to the season ahead.
The first action of the year on the pitch is the Connacht Under 17 Shield quarterfinals, which are down for decision this weekend (January 6/7). Two Mayo teams are still involved, with Castlebar Town hosting Boyle Celtic and Westport away to Knocknacarra.
The Under 19 Shield quarterfinals are the following weekend when Killala are away to Valley Rovers.
That same weekend sees the first round of the Connacht Women's Shield with Straide & Foxford at home to visiting Arrow Harps. Killala have a bye.
Connacht Cup action at all grades continues later in the month and into February, with Kiltimagh Knock United hosting Corrib Celtic in the Under 17 semi-finals on January 21.
There will be Mayo representation in the Under 19 Cup with three Mayo teams featuring in the semi-finals the weekend after that. Swinford are playing host to Manulla in the first cup semi-final and Ballina Town are at home to Salthill Devon.
The Connacht Women's Cup quarterfinals are due to be decided on February 11, and again there's three Mayo teams involved. Manulla, who are looking to put a fourth piece of silverware in their cabinet this season, are away to Moyne Villa, Swinford are on their travels too, away to Kilkerrin, with Castlebar Town hosting Salthill Devon.
In other club news, Kilmore Ladies FC are celebrating a successful first year back in the women's league this weekend, having secured silverware when winning the Mary Walsh Cup in September.
The club will host their first awards night in O'Raghallaigh's Pub, Binghamstown, this Friday, January 5, at 9 p.m.
