Roscommon champions Athleague suffered defeat in this afternoon’s AIB All Ireland Junior Club Camogie Final.
Seven points separated themselves and Armagh side Granemore at the final whistle in a game which saw five goals.
A poor first half saw Athleague behind at the break, 1-4 to 0-1.
Tara Naughton and Kelley Hopkins goaled for Athleague in the second period, the latter coming from a penalty, to put the pressure on their opponents late on.
Alas, it wasn’t to be as the green and white of Granemore captured their national crown, rounded off with a wonder goal from Corrina Doyle.
Full time score from Kinnegad:
Granemore 3-9 Athleague 2-5
