Ballina RFC were big winners today in their All Ireland League meeting with Bangor.

This brought to an end a run of three games where Ballina failed to win.

In a battle of the bottom two teams in the division, the 12 point win for Ballina will be a big boost for their hopes of climbing the table.

Darragh Whyte was impressive throughout at Heffernan Park today, with the full back scoring two tries as well converting seven times.

Next up for Ballina in the AIL is a trip to face the Galwegians next weekend in a big Connacht derby.

Full time score from Ballina:

Ballina 47 – 33 Bangor
