Liam McHale has tonight been ratified as the new Mayo Ladies Senior football manager.
The long running saga appears to have finally come to a conclusion at a meeting of the Mayo LGFA.
Liam McHale was the preferred candidate by an independent interview committee to success Michael Moyles, however the county board executive overwhelmingly rejected the recommendation.
It was later found that the rejection by secret ballot was flawed.
The only other candidate for the job was former Mayo Minor manager Vinny Gavin from Swinford.
Liam McHale withdrew his name from the process but following contact from the board he agreed to come back in the fray.
The long running debacle looks to have finally come to a conclusion and Midwest Sport understands that former Mayo men's selector has been given a three year contract.
McHale's backroom team includes former Mayo GAA team mates Dermot Flanagan, Kenneth Mortimer, former Moy Davitts player and current coach with Kilmoremoy Ladies Padraig Hennigan along with goalkeeping coach Michéal Schlingermann who was part of Michael Moyles management team.
