Following the announcement that Steve Feeney will step down as Sligo Rovers women’s team manager, the Bit O’ Red have today confirmed his replacement.
Tommy Hewitt will become manager next month, as Feeney steps away from the role for work and family reasons.
Hewitt is a native of Athlone and was voted SSE Airtricity Manager of the Year in the Women’s Premier Division in 2022.
This came following Athlone’s second place finish in the league and a FAI Cup final appearance.
He was manager at Athlone for four seasons before stepping away last June.
