Galway GAA have announced that Kenneth Burke has been recommended for the position of Galway U17 hurling manager on a two year term.
A member of the St Thomas’ GAA club, Burke has managed and coached at club and county level in Galway over the past number of years.
He was a selector in Jeffrey Lynskey’s management team for the Galway minor team that won the All Ireland Minor Hurling Championship in 2018.
Continuing to work with Lynskey, Burke was again a selector in winning the 2021 Leinster U20 Hurling Championship.
At club level he managed St Thomas’ to back-to-back Galway Senior Hurling Championship crowns in 2021 and 2022.
Evan Kilroy (Gort), Ger Lyons (Killimor), Willie Burke (Oranmore Maree) and Cathal Daly (St Thomas’) make up the management team.
In their statement released yesterday, Galway GAA wished them the very best of luck over the next couple of years.
