The Connacht premier open Senior Badminton Championships 2023 were hosted by Ballina Badminton Club on Saturday 23rd September 2023.
There was a large entry with players from all over Ireland competing for Senior Badminton Titles.
Bonniconlon native David Walsh had an exceptional day, following up his winning of three titles at the Leinster Autumn Open two weeks ago he repeated that achievement by winning the Men’s Singles, Men’s Doubles playing with Ballina’s Jack O Brien and the Mixed Doubles playing with Dublin’s Michelle Shochan.
Ballina Badminton Club are very proud of David and Jack becoming the first all Ballina pair to win a senior doubles title, and for the fact that they met in the men’s singles final with David just winning out after a very close three set match.
David and Michelle won the Mixed Dubles title beating Nguyen Quang Long and Ruth Kilkenny in the final.
