Eamon O’Shea is set to become the latest high-profile addition to Galway hurling manager Henry Shefflin's backroom team for next season.
RTÉ is reporting that the two-time Tipperary All-Ireland SHC winning coach will assist the Tribesmen in 2024. Living in Salthill for many years, O'Shea also managed his native Tipp for two years, leading them to an All-Ireland final in 2014.
The Kilruane MacDonaghs clubman, who is retiring as a professor of economics in Univerisity of Galway, has a son, Donal, on the Galway senior hurling panel.
The news comes after it was reported that former Connacht rugby star Johnny O’Connor will be also be involved with Galway next year as lead athletic development coach.
