GAA disciplinary chiefs in Galway are to decide on whether to investigate an incident during last Sunday’s senior hurling championship meeting of Ardrahan and Sarsfields.
Ardrahan hurler and former All Ireland winner Johnny Glynn is at the centre of the controversy which has generated much debate on social media.
The game was being showed live by TG4, and footage shows Sarsfield hurler Dan Morrissey pinned to the ground by Glynn.
The clip shows that one of Glynn’s hands appeared to make contact with Morrissey’s neck before the Ardrahan man was dragged away.
After consultation with his umpires, the referee brandished yellow cards to both players.
