A former Roscommon ladies’ footballer will make her AFLW debut this weekend.
Joanne Cregg found the good news among her team-mates as the Fremantle Dockers team was named for Sunday’s opening AFLW game of the season against West Coast at the Fremantle Oval.
Cregg, from Michael Glaveys GAA Club, moved to Australia in March 2022 to work as a doctor, and her rapid rise has seen her reach the pinnacle of the women’s game in Australia over a short space of time.
She initially played for Wembley B-grade amateurs before being picked up by Subiaco in the WAFLW and then to Fremantle earlier this year.
