Over 20 students from Mayo Karate Academy attended the National Kanazawa Cup in Dublin yesterday. This is one of the highest calibre of karate competition in Ireland for youth, junior & senior students, taking all corners from the north, south, east & west with international and nationally experienced referrees and judges.
The Mayo Karate Academy took home an amazing 32 medals to Mayo achieving 7 Gold, 10 Silver & 15 Bronze medals!
A special mention to Saoirse Glennon who recieved the Junior Competitor of the Day as well as Tirna Connors receiving the Senior Competitor of the Day!! The first time ever that two students from the one club was acknowledged with this Award!
Mayo Karate Academy had students as young as 6 years of age participating in the National event. For many it was their first Competition at National level and already taking home medals is such an achievement shows how much time, dedication, discipline and confidence this team has shown in recent months.
