The Sligo u16 girls have won the Connacht B Football Championship.
They overcame Roscommon in yesterday evening’s final at the Connacht GAA COE in Bekan.
In an over and back affair, Roscommon took the lead early on before Sligo hit the net on 16 minutes to earn a three point advantage.
Roscommon goaled two minutes later and kept with Sligo for the remainder of the half – the Yeatswomen went in two up at the break.
Roscommon took the lead just after half time with their second goal, and Sligo turned the tie once again after 40 mins with their second goal.
As the last ten minutes played out Sligo rattled off three scores to stretch their lead to four points and see out to the victory.
