Mayo are through to the last eight of the All Ireland SFC after a one point win over Galway today.

Galway were five up at half time, 0-8 0-3, with a strong breeze at their backs.

David McBrien's second half goal put Mayo back in control before key scores from Cillian O'Connor and Paddy Durcan.

Galway fought back to bring the game to a single point at the death.

Last minute saves from Colm Reape and a clearance off the line from Eoghan McLaughlin helped Mayo over the line.

Missed opportunities in both halves for Galway will be their regret as they fail to build on last year's All Ireland final appearance.

Ryan O'Donoghue, Tommy Conroy and Durcan hit 0-2 each and were influential throughout.

Shane Walsh finished up with 0-4 for the Tribesmen.

The Mayo Men's Mental Health Man of the Match was awarded to Mayo captain Paddy Durcan.
