Swinford's unbeaten run in the Mayo Women's Football League came to an end on Friday when they met Manulla who turned in a five-star performance.
That was the difference in goals between the sides, 5-0, with Sophie Keane opening the scoring for the home side on 22 minutes. Laura Regan got on the end of a corner with a great header for goal number two. Corner taker Jess Nolan was provider again for a Tracy Hall strike into the top corner on the hour mark before getting her name on the scoresheet courtesy of a penalty.
Hall lobbed the 'keeper for Manulla's fifth just before full-time to bring Swinford's unbeaten run to an end.
Friday evening's other match brought Killala to Foxford where they played out a close encounter with the S&F women, taking home a 2-1 win.
S&F opened the scoring through Stephanie Loughney on 25 minutes. Two quick strikes by Alva Munnelly brought it level and then pushed Killala ahead, the first goal coming on 52 minutes and the second two minutes later.
Fourth placed Kiltimagh Knock United were guests of Ballinrobe on a glorious Saturday evening and attack was in their minds from the off, though they found home 'keeper Aine Gibbons in inspired form.
KK got the goal they deserved on 30 minutes when Hana Ueno hit an unstoppable shot from 25 yards.
Shona Mahon doubled the lead when picked out in space by 'keeper Elaine Duffy who delivered a great ball, with Mahon accelerating past the defence to score. And the birthday girl put some icing on her own cake when she popped home her second goal on 75 minutes.
The league is nearing the halfway stage where it splits into two divisions, with some mid table spots still to be decided.
