Sligo Rovers are up to fifth in the League of Ireland Premier Division following victory over St Pat's on Monday.

Having suffered defeat to Shamrock Rovers on Friday, John Russell's side got back to winning ways.

Former Rovers striker Eoin Doyle was sent off for Pat's, and Max Mata got the only goal of the game.

For Galway United, they remain top of the League of Ireland First Division.

They had a 1-0 win over Cobh Ramblers on Friday with Vincent Russo Borden on target.

However, Galway suffered their first loss of the season yesterday, losing 1-0 to Longford Town.

Galway are still in first, but lose for the first time after 11 wins on the bounce.
