Galway now sit at the top of the Connacht Minor Football Championship table after victory over Roscommon yesterday in Tuam Stadium.
With Galway five points to the good, Sean Walsh found the net midway through the second half to put them into a commanding lead.
From there, Roscommon were unable to fight back and find themselves at the bottom of the pile having lost to Mayo in round one.
Elsewhere, Sligo and Leitrim played out a draw in a thrilling encounter in Avant Money Páirc Seán Mac Diarmada.
Both sides had the chance to win at the end and will look back on an opportunity missed to climb the table in search of a top three spot.
In the round robin format, Mayo will be back in action for round three and will look to keep their winning ways going.
Full time scores from Round Two of the Connacht Minor Football Championship:
Galway 1-13 (16) Roscommon 0-8
