Galway suffered defeat by a single point today at the hands of Kerry, who take their place at the top of the division one table.

Louise Ní Mhuircheartaigh notched 2-3 in the first half to send Kerry into a strong lead.

Seven points down, but Galway were nowhere near finished. They managed to rattle off a string of scores to bring the Kerry lead back to one, but in the end they just didn’t have enough to see it out.

They’ll get a second chance at Kerry nonetheless as the two will meet in the league final.

A sweet one for Kerry, in their first league win over Galway since 2016.
