There’s a lot on the line for Connacht sides in this weekend’s Allianz National Football League Division 1 and 4 games.
Mayo are top of division one, two points clear of second place Roscommon and third place Galway.
Mayo travel to Donegal on Sunday, who are bottom of the table and need a win to climb towards safety. Kevin McStay’s side remain unbeaten in their campaign – and only Derry and Cavan (top of divisions two and three) are also yet to lose.
Roscommon are in action on Saturday night away to All Ireland champions Kerry. Jack O’Connor’s men are fifth in the table where a win could see them climb to second if other results go their way.
Galway are also out Saturday evening away to Armagh in a replay of last year’s thrilling All Ireland quarter final. Armagh are breathing down the Tribesmen’s necks just one place and one point below them.
Regarding division four action, Sligo, London and Leitrim are all in action this weekend.
First up, Sligo are away to Carlow on Saturday evening. The Yeats men are in second place on level points with top side Laois, and behind on the head-to-head ruling.
London are also out on Saturday away to Waterford. The Exiles are second from bottom with their weekend opponents below them and still yet to register a point on the board.
For Andy Moran’s Leitrim, they host Laois on Sunday. After defeat to Wicklow in the last round the Leitrim promotion push has suffered a set back, and they are now in fourth spot and two points off the top two.
A win against Laois would seriously shake things up for the division, to set up a showdown with neighbouring Sligo on the final day.
