Connacht Rugby can confirm Kieran Marmion has decided to depart the club when his contract expires at the end of the season.
With 224 appearances over 11 seasons, Marmion is currently third in all-time appearances for the club behind John Muldoon and Michael Swift. He started at scrum-half on Connacht’s greatest day – the 2016 PRO12 Grand Final win – and has played a key role across many other milestones for the province.
His performances for Connacht also led to him becoming a regular feature for Ireland, winning 28 caps across six seasons. Arguably his greatest day for the national team came in November 2018 when he was the starting scrum-half for Ireland’s first ever home win over the All Blacks.
Marmion is set to join English Premiership club Bristol Bears.
