Ballygar GAA club’s appeal against the result of last month’s Connacht junior club hurling final against Easkey has been rejected following a meeting of the GAA’s Central Appeals Committee.
Easkey won the final by 0-5 to 0-4, in treacherous conditions at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence in Bekan.
The Ballygar objection came from an effort for a point from Cillian Egan, which they thought went over, but was ruled as wide.
Initially, they brought the case before Connacht GAA but it was rejected, hence they sought further analysis.
The oral hearing took place on Monday night, but Croke Park’s Central Appeals Committee ruled the appeal out of order.
For Easkey, they will faece London champions Kilburn Gaels in the All Ireland junior club hurling semi final on Saturday December 17.
