The UPMC have joined up with the GAA, LGFA, the Camogie Association and the GPA to introduce a concussion baseline testing programme to inter county players across the country.
The goal is to provide rapid diagnosis and concussion treatment for players.
The initiative was launched by Mayo Senior Footballer Cillian O’Connor and will cover football, hurling and camogie and players will participate equally across all codes.
This follows the UPMC’s recent opening of a centre at the NUI Galway Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence Air Dome, and their pilot programme for baseline testing that was launched last year.
