Mayo GAA are saddened to hear of the passing of Austin Garvin RIP, Knock Road, Claremorris.
Devoted husband of Mary, loving father to Paul, Adrian and his daughter Deirdre grandchildren Sophie, Leah, Dylan, Jacob and Seth, daughter-in-law Cora, Paul's partner Imelda, brothers Tom, Michael, Philip and Austin's wide circle of relatives neighbours and friends
Predeceased by his parents, Philip and Mary and his sister Kathleen
Austin was a well known figure with his club Claremorris GAA and in Mayo GAA circles. He worked as a sports reporter for the Mayo News and Midwest Radio.
Austin most notably managed the Mayo Minors throughout the 1970's to Connacht and All Ireland success
Austin's remains will repose at Gilligan's Funeral Home Market Square Claremorris (F12YP74) on Friday 18th November from 6pm until 8pm.
His remains will arrive to St. Colman's Church Claremorris on Saturday for Funeral Mass at 1 o clock with burial afterwards in St. Colman's Cemetery.
