Manulla Football Club has just launched its biggest ever fundraising drive to help financially support an ambitious development of the club’s facilities. The monies are needed due to the continued growth in club members and use of the facilities by the wider community.
The Jungle Challenge fundraiser will involve 24 well-known local contestants taking to the stage in Breaffy House Resort on Friday, October 21. Modelled on the hit TV show I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here, the contestants will be tested with a variety of challenges in a race to see who will be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle.
Club Chairman David Cunningham is excited about the event and also the progressive direction the club is moving in: “Our development plan is ambitious to say the least, but there are no limits to what we can achieve when we all work together. We are so thankful to all the contestants who have put themselves forward for the Jungle Challenge and to the sponsors who have supported them. Momentum is building with fundraisers to support the bigger event being organised all over Manulla, Balla, Breaffy, Belcarra and beyond.
“Directed by Empower Events, this promises to be a very professionally produced and directed show. This is the first time this event is being staged in the West of Ireland and I am confident it will be a huge success. The club is appealing to the community to get behind the contestants and support them and Manulla FC.”
Manulla FC’s 2022-2024 development plan includes:
· Development of further playing and training areas
· Additional car parking on grounds recently purchased and widened entrance
· Extension of existing walking and running track
· New sensory room ‘The Cubbie’, and wheelchair accessible WC in the clubhouse
· Upgrade all lighting to LED
· Installation of PV solar panels
· New kit storage room
· Biodiversity habitat
