The annual Keash King of the Hill took place on Saturday evening July 30. It’s part of the local Garland Sunday festival near Ballymote Co Sligo.
The one lap course is over a winding route up around Keash Hill.
Well done to Ballyhaunis based Mayo AC members Johnny and Breege Cribbin who conquered the 10k challenge.
The 67 finishers were led home by Killian Mooney DSD AC in 33:48. First woman was Laurie Douglas Central AC Scotland in 44:19.
Johnny Cribbin finished 11th overall and first M60 in 46:01, with Breege W50 crossing the line in 58:13.
Two Mayo AC women competed n the previous evening (Friday July 29) in the Knock Airport 6k. Martina O’Connor finished 6th overall in 25:01, with her mother Angela 9th of about 30 finishers in 26:05.
The course took runners on a one lap route with a tough climb in the section leading back up to Airport.
Meanwhile on Saturday evening in Lanzarote, the Carrera Solidaria race took place at Tahiche. Paula Donnellan ran the 6k, finishing ninth overall and second woman in 27:49.
