Kevin McStay has put his name forward for the Mayo football manager’s job.
The closing date for applications closes tomorrow evening.
Midwest Sport understands that McStay has assembled a strong backroom team, with former Mayo manager Stephen Rochford, ex-Mayo coach Donie Buckley, former Mayo player Liam McHale and All-Ireland winner with Crossmolina Damien Mulligan.
Kevin McStay previously managed Roscommon and currently works as a GAA pundit for RTE.
When the deadline expires on Friday, candidates will be assessed before interviews are held.
It was confirmed at last night's county board meeting that the new manager will be in place before the start of the club championships.
