A number of local athletes are compete across seven sports in the Summer European Youth Olympic Festival this week.
The multi-sport event that is aimed at athletes aged 14-17 years, is taking place in Slovakia and runs until Sunday.
The prestigious event plays an important role in the development of an athlete, replicating the Olympic Games model.
Westport tennis star Eoghan Jennings is representing Ireland in the singles and mixed doubles.
After savage competition in the boys singles opening round, he bowed out with Portugal’s Joao Dinis Silva moving to the next round, in 6-2, 4-6, 6-3.
However, Eoghan and his doubles partner Rachel Deegan moved to the next round in dominating fashion after beating Kosovo 6:1, 6:2.
Clodagh Gill from Moy Valley AC in Mayo is included in the 3000m, while Roscommon’s Hollie Kilroe is representing Suck Valley AC in the 400m Medley Relay.
