Mayo had 2 games on the second day of the tournament. First up at midday was a meeting with top seeds MGL North. Mayo very much gave as good as they got and the Dublin keeper was very lucky to only receive a yellow card after upending Emma Higgins in the 9th minute.

MGL scored shortly after and added two more goals in the 2nd half to give them a rather flattering 3-0 victory.

Back out at 6pm the Mayo girls played brilliantly against the wind to lead Kilkenny 1-0 at half-time courtesy of an Emma Higgins strike.

Mayo were the better side in the 2nd half but couldn't add that vital second goal and got pegged back 7 minutes from time. Despite the tired bodies the Mayo girls rallied again and won the match through a thumping Aine Monaghan header from an Amy Murphy corner.

Best for Mayo over the 2 games were Aoife Meaney, Cara Culkin, Aine Monaghan, Kasey Ruane and Emma Higgins.
