The Mayo GAA minor footballers are up and running for the 2022 season and manager Sean Deane is leaving no stone unturned with his preparations.
The Breaffy club man has assembled a very talented panel of young footballers.
Speaking at a recent information seminar for parents of the players, Deane outlined the hectic schedule of games and the commitment required from each player and their families ahead of the Connacht GAA Minor League and Championship.
The insightful seminar featured a host of guest speakers including newly appointed Mayo GAA Senior Football captain Stephen Coen, who spoke about his own time as a Mayo minor footballer.
Coen congratulated each player for their progress to date and said they now had to take control of their own destiny and be the best they could be.
The seminar also featured expert advice from Mayo GAA’s newly appointed Performance Games Development Administrator Kieran Kilkenny who spoke about skill development, strength and conditioning, nutrition, injury prevention and the importance of rest and recovery.
Mayo GAA County Board Chairman, Seamus Tuohy congratulated the players for getting this far and wished them well in the weeks and months ahead.
He also thanked the parents for their support and constant encouragement.
Tuohy also expressed his support for Sean Deane and his management team.
Mayo will host Leitrim in the first round of the Connacht Championship on April 22, 2022.
