Funeral arrangements have been confirmed for Paddy Prendergast, full-back on the last Mayo team to win the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship.

A native of Ballintubber, he was aged 95 and won the Sam Maguire with Mayo in 1950 and ’51.

The former Garda lived most of his adult in County Kerry having been transferred there in the 1960s.

He will repose at the family residence in Ballinorig, Tralee tomorrow from 4 to 7 pm for family and close friends.

His Funeral will take place in St. John’s Church, Tralee on Wednesday at 12 noon and it will be streamed on
