Ruth Fahy has called time on her playing career after becoming the new CEO of Galway WFC.
The 33-year-old has had a successful career with Galway, Salthill Devon FC and Wexford Youths, but she has now hung up her boots to embrace a new challenge.
Galway said the qualified solicitor will be in charge of implementing a strategic vision for the club.
The westerners currently field sides in the WNL, as well as the Under-17 and Under-19 national leagues.
Galway currently lie fifth in the WNL table.
